Silicon Valley veteran & former Cisco executive Mohsen Moazami joins Kestrel team
Kestrel Partners is pleased to announce that it continues to strengthen its team with the appointment of Mohsen Moazami as Senior Adviser to the Board. His role is to support the Kestrel leadership team with his in-depth knowledge of the technology industry and his extensive network, gathered from over 30 years in senior operating roles in the USA and covering EMEA, as well as a professional venture capitalist and advisor based in Silicon Valley.
“Mohsen’s diverse technology experience and extensive relationship network will be invaluable in helping us support our technology-rich portfolio companies, to help them achieve their growth ambitions and unlock value. We are excited about the opportunities that his expertise offers to Kestrel,” says Oliver Scott, co-founder and Managing Partner at Kestrel.
Mohsen graduated from Stanford University engineering school and his career spans over 30 years in the technology industry: He is currently Chairman of Astrea Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ: ASAX), which targets technology-enhanced high-growth companies, and Vcinity, a private firm focused on high performance computing, and is also Senior Adviser to Opengate Capital, a private equity firm.
He was the founder and CEO of Stanford Business Systems, before it was acquired by KSA, a division of Accenture. He then spent 12 years at Cisco; the first eight years in the leadership team of its Strategic Consulting Group and the last four years in the leadership of its Emerging Markets division, with $6 billion of revenue.
He then co-founded CNTP, a global, multi-stage, technology investment firm in Silicon Valley. His investments spanned security, cyber security, big data analytics, gig economy and SaaS applications. Mohsen also served on the Board of a telecommunications company, Global Capacity, where he helped oversee a turnaround of the business, a $150m acquisition and the ultimate exit of the company.
